It takes bold strides every episode and tackles various social and political themes. Was a while that a show could not get my undivided attention.ĭoom Patrol is an inventive, ambitious, hilarious, and action-packed comic book adaptation that solidifies DC as an ever-evolving brand. With such big names I wonder why this show did not get more attention. However, in my humble opinion, the best element of the cast was Diane Guerrero who was able to switch between different characters instantly. The cast is absolutely phenomenal, and there are big names such as Brandon Fraser, Timothy Dalton and Matt Boomer. Even the villain on season one is subject to this treatment and this makes him more relatable to the audience. They also have beautiful development, they change throughout the series, they fight their fears and insecurities, and they become gradually better, understanding that they can really make a difference. The fact that these super heroes show since the first episode their vulnerabilities and weaknesses, make them closer to the audience. Creators managed to treat some serious topics in a funny and light-hearted way, which is something not easy to do. Some things might be a little bit dragged out, but overall dialogues are well written and the plot is varied and filled with details regarding their past. Personally I felt a connection with the people portrayed on screen. Screenwriters managed to create interesting and compelling characters with well built storylines. At first I was cautious, because the latest DC productions were quite disappointing for me, specifically "Sucicìde Squad 2" and "Peacemaker". I have discovered "Doom Patrol" recently, despite being a show that was released in 2019.
